Sanna Kokkonen

Sanna believes in constant learning and developing and has always remained curious. She spent the last 30 years experimenting with all forms of movement, yoga and Eastern philosophy and blends these effortlessly into her teaching. Her classes are always a journey – fun, interactive, strong yet soft and usually blended with mantra and evocation from her beloved shruti box.
She is a long- term faculty member of the RA Yoga Teacher Trainings and specialises in asana and yoga philosophy. In Europe she teaches at workshops, festivals and runs retreats. She has studied with many big ashtanga vinyasa names from Petri Raisanen to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and many others from different yoga traditions and lineages. Sanna studied Asian Spiritual Classics and Mahayana Buddhism with Lama Marut in Singapore and was authorised by him to teach Tibetan Heart Yoga.
In India she studied under Vijay Krsna and they often collaborate at international yoga festivals and retreatws interweaving yoga with dance and bhakti. Sanna, born and raised in Helsinki, has one foot in Finland, one in Bali and her heart in both! Outside of yoga her passion is working with rescue cats and dogs.

Maja Thune

Maja Thune is a celebrated author and teacher of Therapeutic yoga. She has a BA in psychology from the University of Oslo and is an Art and Expression therapist. She recieved her Hatha yoga education in India and is a certified Yin yoga instructor. Maja has taught yoga in hospitals, treatment centers, and yoga studios for the past ten years and is a renowned speaker in Norway. Her pioneering work in bringing yoga, mindfulness, and compassion as an alternative healing modality into psychiatry has brought media attention and developed into a series of concert-seminar events called Love as Medicine. Maja also established and directs a two-year education program in Therapuetic yoga, where professionals and health care workers learn how yoga and mindfulness can be used as a healing method in the face of mental disturbance and stress, both common and clinical.

Together with her genuine warmth and disarming presence, what makes Maja so inspirational as a teacher is her personal story; after many years of debilitating mental illness and being committed to a hospital, she found her own way out using alternative healing methods, such as art therapy, yoga, and mindfulness techniques. And she has returned to the same hospitals, this time working with compassion as a therapist to some of the most mentally ill patients in Norway.

Open your heart through yoga and chanting

Open your heart through daily yoga and chanting practice

Start your day with amazing vinyasa flow practise, meditation and chanting that will open your heart and get you in touch with your soul’s deepest desire. Help you to come from your head and into your heart. Creating brain heart coherence that will make you live more fully present and have more radiant life.

You will have plenty of spare time that you can use as you want. You can enjoy swimming pool and sun or exploring Ubud and everything that it has to offer.

After that it will be relaxing and grounding yoga practice and then a delicious vegan dinner. Two of the days it will be kirtan after dinner.

Ubud, the holistic heart of Asia

Ubud, known as the spiritual, cultural and arts centre of Bali, is where the island’s pilgrims have traditionally come to drink the holy water and bathe in the nearby holy springs of Pura Tirtha Umpul. These days, modern-day pilgrims from around the world also descend in droves, keen to tap into the mystical energy of Bali.

These days Ubud is brimming with yoga and healing centres, vegetarian cafes and inspirational wellness retreats. New age Western-style healers ply their arts alongside traditional Balinese priests and balians (healers), so you get your chakras tuned, have a ritual soul blessing, sign up for a crystal healing session, learn Buddhist meditation, detox, do a juice fast, lose yourself in ecstatic dance, have your colon irrigated, get some sound medicine, and delve into your past life.

Name a holistic therapy and Ubud’s got it. Throw in beautiful scenery, mystic traditions and the warmth and friendliness of the Balinese, and you have all the ingredients for the ultimate wellness holiday.
